GUE DIR Fundamentals course

The GUE Fundamentals course is designed to cultivate the essential techniques required by all sound diving practice, irrespective of level or environment.

Functioning as a prerequisite for all other GUE classes, the Fundamentals class performs a three-fold function within the GUE curriculum:

1) it provides the recreational diver with a context in which to advance his/her basic diving skills, thereby developing more comfort, confidence, and competence in the water,

 2) it provides the diver with aspirations of Tech or Cave diver training with the tools that will contribute to a greater likelihood of success, and

3) it provides non-GUE trained divers with a gateway into GUE training.

Here at CGT we are proud to be the first to make this prestigious and highly sought after diver education program available locally in the southern Caribbean.

We are equally excited to be able to offer GUE training in one of the most highly regarded tropical resort destinations on the planet to visiting divers, with an emphasis on fun and real-world applicability.

That's why we make sure we are offering our students an extensive amount of fun dives around their classes to hone their newly acquired skills.

CGT's resident GUE Instructor Benji Schaub is able to teach the Fundamentals class in three languages, English, Dutch and German. The first student to register usually determines course language.
We also strive to accommodate student schedules as much as possible.
In practice, this means: Since the class can be taught with as few as 2 students, you can make contact with us, and with only a few days' notice, we'll conduct your class for you and your buddy!
This is possible because we're operating as a full-time facility, and are completely dedicated to let your training with us run as smoothly as possible. In order to be able to plan further ahead however, you'll want to reserve spots in our regularly posted classes on the GUE website.

Here's how to use the unique and efficient GUE course registration for pre-scheduled as well as custom classes:

  1. Go to the GUE website here.
  2. Use the Log In/Join link.
  3. Create an account or log in with your credentials.
  4. Go to My Profile.
Complete the forms honestly and to the best of your ability. You'll have to do this one time only.
  5. Go to GUE Class Schedule.
  6. Find the class you'd like to take and apply.
  7. You will then follow a link to payment of the registration fee of 75 US$. You will also be able to download vital pre-study material for your class.
  8. As soon as I receive notice of you having applied for your class, I will contact you and give you the details you need to know about the class, such as equipment, logistics and payment options.
  9. Once all requirements are met, you'll be registered into the class and we're ready for fun!
